Fred’s Game Day Snack Playbook
Five quick, crowd-pleasing recipes made with Richard’s Famous seasonings
Game day food doesn’t need to keep you in the kitchen. These five easy favorites come together quickly, use simple ingredients, and bring plenty of flavor to the table. Make one—or put out the whole spread!
LOADED GAME DAY NACHOS
Make It With:
Richard’s Famous Original Garlic Salt
Richard’s Famous Ancho Fiesta Seasoning
Serves 6
Ingredients
1 lb. ground beef
1 or 2 tsp. Ancho Fiesta Seasoning, to taste
½ tsp. Original Garlic Salt, or to taste
1 large bag sturdy tortilla chips
2 cups shredded cheddar or Mexican-blend cheese
1 can (15 oz.) black beans, drained and rinsed
½ cup corn kernels
1 medium tomato, diced
¼ cup sliced jalapeños, optional
Sour cream, avocado, salsa and sliced green onions for serving
Let’s Make It!
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it into crumbles as it cooks. Drain excess fat, then stir in Ancho Fiesta and Original Garlic Salt.
Spread tortilla chips over a large sheet pan. Top with the seasoned beef, black beans, corn and cheese. Bake at 400°F for 6–8 minutes, or until the cheese is hot and melted.
Finish with tomatoes, jalapeños and green onions. Serve with plenty of sour cream, avocado and salsa.
Fred’s Tip: Build the nachos in two layers so there are goodies hiding underneath, too!
QUICK AND SAUCY CHICKEN WINGS
Make It With:
Richard’s Famous Firecracker Garlic Salt
or Habanero Garlic Salt for extra heat
Serves 4–6
Ingredients
2 lbs. chicken wings, split and tips removed
1 Tbsp. olive oil
1–1½ tsp. Firecracker Garlic Salt, or Habanero Garlic Salt, to taste
½ cup your favorite barbecue sauce
2 Tbsp. honey
1 Tbsp. melted butter
1 tsp. apple cider vinegar
Let’s Make It!
Heat oven to 425°F. Pat the wings dry, toss with olive oil and season with Firecracker Garlic Salt. Arrange in a single layer on a foil-lined sheet pan.
Bake for 35–45 minutes, turning once, until browned, crisp and cooked through.
Meanwhile, stir together barbecue sauce, honey, melted butter and vinegar. Toss the hot wings with the sauce and return them to the oven for 3–5 minutes until sticky and sizzling.
Turn Up the Heat: Swap in Habanero Garlic Salt for a hotter wing.
20 - MINUTE GAME-DAY CHILI
Make It With:
Richard’s Famous Ancho Fiesta Seasoning
Richard’s Famous Original Garlic Salt
Serves 6
Ingredients
1 lb. ground beef
1 small onion, diced
1 can (15 oz.) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 can (15 oz.) black or pinto beans, drained and rinsed
1 can (14½ oz.) diced tomatoes
1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
1½–2 tsp. Ancho Fiesta Seasoning
½ tsp. Original Garlic Salt, or to taste
½ cup water, as needed
Shredded cheddar, sour cream and green onions for serving
Let’s Make It!
Brown the ground beef and onion in a large saucepan or Dutch oven. Drain excess fat.
Stir in the beans, tomatoes, tomato sauce, Ancho Fiesta and Original Garlic Salt. Add a splash of water if you prefer a thinner chili.
Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Taste and adjust the seasoning.
Spoon into bowls and pile on the cheese, sour cream and green onions.
Fred’s Tip: This is a great make-ahead recipe—the flavor gets even better as it sits.
HEY DUDE CREAMY RANCH DIP
Make It With:
Richard’s Famous Hey Dude Ranch Seasoning
Richard’s Famous Original Garlic Salt
Serves 4
Ingredients
½ cup mayonnaise
½ cup sour cream or plain Greek yogurt
1 Tbsp. Hey Dude Ranch Seasoning
½ tsp. Original Garlic Salt, or to taste
1 tsp. apple cider vinegar
Let’s Make It!
Stir everything together until creamy and well combined. For the best flavor, refrigerate for 20–30 minutes before serving.
Serve with carrots, celery, cucumber, sweet peppers, cherry tomatoes, pretzels or chips.
Fred’s Tip: Want a little kick? Add a light sprinkle of Firecracker Garlic Salt.
QUICK FRENCH BREAD PIZZA
Make It With:
Richard’s Famous Nonnie’s Kitchen Italian Seasoning
Richard’s Famous Original Garlic Salt
Serves 4
Ingredients
1 loaf French bread
1 can (15 oz.) tomato sauce
1 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
1–1½ tsp. Nonnie’s Kitchen Italian Seasoning
½ tsp. Original Garlic Salt, or to taste
1 tsp. sugar
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
¼ cup grated Parmesan
Your favorite pizza toppings
Let’s Make It!
Heat oven to 425°F.
Stir together the tomato sauce, olive oil, Nonnie’s Kitchen Italian Seasoning, Original Garlic Salt and sugar.
Slice the French bread in half lengthwise and place cut-side up on a sheet pan. For a crispier pizza, bake the plain bread for 3–4 minutes first.
Spread generously with the quick pizza sauce, then top with mozzarella, Parmesan and your favorite toppings.
Bake for 8–12 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges of the bread are crisp. Slice and serve hot.
Fred’s Tip: Cut each half into smaller pieces and you’ve got easy grab-and-go game day pizza!
